Apples and honey, sweet pomegranates, honey cakes... Rosh Hashanah is characterized by symbols of sweetness as we celebrate God's Kingship, reminders of His sovereignty, and an awareness of His Messianic Kingdom yet to come. The Scriptures actually do not call this holiday Rosh Hashanah- it actually refers to it as Yom Hazikaron, the Day of Remembrance, and Yom Teruah, the Day of the Blowing of the Shofar, or the Feast of Trumpets (Leviticus 23:23-25; Numbers 29:1-6).
The Feast of Trumpets is the first of the two High Holy Days (the second being Yom Kippur), and it simultaneously invites joy and sobriety as we blow the shofar, reflect, and prepare our hearts for a new year.
Below you will soon find resources, reflections, and recommendations for how to engage Rosh Hashanah in your life and home. Always feel free to contact us with any questions-
