About Us

Shalom, friend. We're so glad you're here. At this table, our mission is to reintroduce disciples of the Jewish Jesus  (Yeshua) to His Word, His ways, and His people. Our vision is to see all believers (Jewish & Gentile) experience God’s Word as a feast, and to walk out their discipleship to Yeshua in the spirit of Sabbath as one family. 

We are a ministry with Messianic Jewish roots that is dedicated to elevating the spirit of Sabbath in our discipleship experiences and teaching. The spirit of Sabbath, as we see it, is the essence or nature of the Kingdom of God - characterized by a shalom (wholeness) in His presence, and a fullness of directing our thoughts and actions in His ways. The elevation of this spirit in discipleship occurs through how we support disciples of the Messiah in grasping and loving the Scriptures (in their context, time, and language), walking out His way in their everyday lives, and growing in unity with the Lord and all of His people, Jew and Gentile. We want to see the Kingdom of God come in the here and now… Even as we wait for the “not yet.” 

Our approach to the table: 

• Edifies disciples in the Jewish roots of their faith (historical, cultural, biblical context). 
• Empowers disciples to apply the Scriptures to their everyday life. 
• Eliminates barriers by creating space where Kingdom unity is elevated. 
• Encourages disciples to grow in love for the Scriptures, living the Scriptures, and reflecting them in community.

Michayla and Stephen White (that's us!) are childhood sweethearts (we met when we were 12!) going on 15 years of marriage. We have three energetic, creative boys (11, 9, and 2) and currently reside in the Chicagoland area. Michayla was raised in a Messianic Jewish home, and Stephen grew up attending a Baptist church. Today, we are elders at Adat Hatikvah Messianic Synagogue where Stephen serves as the Youth Director and Michayla serves in Early Childhood. 

Stephen is very invested in his family, serving his local community, and also leads a corporate industrial sales company. Michayla is passionate about her family, the discipleship of the kids in her life, serving the mission of their congregation, coaching leaders across the country, and pouring into the vision of The Sabbath Table. Her background is in international para-church ministry for over 15 years focused on the discipleship of kids and families - most recently as the CEO of a global children's ministry leadership organization. She resigned after serving for 6 years in that role when God made it clear she had completed her assignment there and that He had more for her to be obedient to. After a summer sabbatical, she returned to "normal" life on October 4th, 2023. Three days later, on October 7th, her people in her beloved Israel were attacked, massacred, and kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. The world changed. And the mission God put in her heart to reintroduce disciples to their Jewish Messiah and His Word felt more important than ever. 

The White family loves sharing their home and tables with others, going on adventures, musical theater, spending time outside, celebrating absolutely anything, and discovering new things! Their home can get pretty loud with two trombone players, a piano player, and a toddler. The big boys are also in karate, so don't be alarmed by the tiny, intense ninja (aka our toddler) following them around.

Michayla and Stephen have always been passionate about setting tables (literally, and in other ways), being people of welcome and shalom, and ensuring everyone leaves more in love with the Lord and more settled in their spirits about who He made them to be.
